Good that it’s by county, but still fact that different areas have different population densities distorts things. Have you posted this one already which controls for that?
One thing that I think is skewed by the time lapse map is that it suggests that a large part of the gotten more Republican, especially the center. I think that is incorrect. What has happened is that the Democratic party has swayed way to the left causing more people to vote Republican because their moderate and conservative values are no longer represented by the blue party.
