Isn’t this a question of who is applying for loans? So this chart answers a huge blend of questions at once, resulting in some pretty colors that may not really have that much discernible meaning.

It’d be interesting to see this info from the housing bubble years with a current map of foreclosures overlaid.
I wonder if one of the reasons Texas hasn’t been hurt much by the housing crisis is because it had responsible mortgage denial policies.
