I usually don’t post these column-style infographics anymore, because most of them are shitty link-bait. But this one on teen drug use cites a quality recent source, doesn’t over-use symbols or clip art, properly highlights key observations, and uses a consistent color scheme. Nice work! Oh, and high school kids – don’t do drugs.

so i see amphetamines, adderal, and methamphetamine are given separate categories? Thats like saying carbonated beverages, Coca cola and pepsi in a poll of soft drink users. They do it again with hallucinogenics and lsd but even though they have vicoden, oxycotin, and heroin they don’t have opiates? If opiates was given as a category it would be larger in usage than amphetamines.

Yeah, some stacked bars there might have worked.

Their survey may have asked different questions than this infographic lists, because that section comparing Prescription vs. Illicit drug use doesn’t make sense, because there are valid reasons that a 12th-grader is going to be using several of those drugs for pain or other psychiatric uses, whereas there is no good reason why a 12th-grader ought to be using crack and heroin.
They’re comparing prescription drug USE versus illicit drug use, and it’s a dumb comparison that makes me doubt the rest of the content.
