Stupid question, Dustin – what events do the year long spikes in CPI 2 yrs before bubble peak and 6 years after represent?

Alison, I’m not sure what caused the uptick from ~0.5 to 2%, but the fall into deflation corresponds with the 1997 Asian Contagion crisis.
