Not shown on this map is that Long Beach is almost always playing Miami in some movie or another. Maybe that’s a more recent development?

Cannot resist the counter observation – all the parts of the world that have been used as film representations of the USA – take mini-Hollywood near Tabernas to the north of Almeria in Spain for example (http://www.unique-almeria.com/mini-hollywood.html) which featured so prominently in films such as “A fistful of dollars” and “The good, the bad and the ugly”…
