Since I hadn’t seen Primer, I looked it up on Wikipedia and they found the below timeline description of how time travel works in the movie:

Yeah, xkcd is awesome. I hadn’t seen Primer either but you get the idea just by looking at the chart.
This comic inspired me to put together an interactive visualization which shows the character relationships changing over time. I mashed it up with the xkcd comic. Check it out:
