A nice interactive visualization of gay rights in the United States, by State. This was created by the Guardian in the UK – where, interestingly, the conservatives support gay rights.

Definitely a UK view of US regions, as any west coaster would know there is more in common within the Pacific states than “Southwest” or “Northwest” that include inland places like Montana or Utah, which are culturally very different than CA, WA, OR and HI.

Michael F – what set categories and labels would you use to divide US states? If you’d seperate out coastal and inland east and west, how would you name these?
